I’m working on a project that involves using audio samples, but I’m a bit confused about copyright laws and how editing can affect them.
I’ve heard that altering the sound significantly can help avoid copyright issues. I’m wondering if any of you have experience with this and could provide some guidance.
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It was “held for moderation”, the forum software said - but now it seems to have disappeared.
Who [unacceptable speech removed by moderator] is/are the moderator(s) of this forum and WHY was my answer not accepted? Just to be clear: It did NOT contain any links (which could have been interpreted as advertising) nor any “unacceptable speech”.
If you want that users help other users, such behaviour (making answers disappear without notice to the author) of admins is in my opinion unacceptable.
Sometimes the forum will hit a “trigger word.” It doesn’t have to be a phrase or declaration. The forum also has time-outs (times-out?) so the display service doesn’t get clogged with housekeeping.
All that plus there is no “Help Desk” or formal response system, so forum dialog has to come from helper elves scattered all over earth.
I don’t think it was me this time, but at least once I have accidently hit the wrong button and deleted, rather than approved a post. Then it’s gone and I can’t bring it back.
I kill about 20 posts every day that were flagged automatically by the forum software. I’m sure moderators in other time zones see a similar amount. Most of the time it’s clearly spam so I’ll delete the account and block the them. Of course, I don’t send an explanation.
Maybe once a day, I’ll approve a flagged post that is actually OK. The automatic software does a pretty good job. And I’m pretty sure it’s blocking some spam before the moderators ever see it.
MOST new forum members are spammers and there is probably more attempted spam everyday than legitimate posts!
