I apologize in advance if this had been asked and answered (of course it has but I can’t find it) but I does my sound card have an impact on the quality of the recording? Would a desktop sound card produce a better quality sound when recording from a streaming source? I use the WASAPI settings on Win 10. Thanks much.
WASAPI loopback recording is digital so it won’t be affected (much) at the recording stage by a bad/cheap sound card, but if you have a bad sound card or you are listening through built-in or cheap computer speakers, the playback of what you recorded won’t sound good.
If you want to be 100% sure that you have a faithful copy of the audio you are streaming, download the audio, not record it. You can download from many popular web sites. Use your favourite search engine to find out how.
Of course, you need copyright holders’ permission to record or download.
