[SOLVED] The left channel from the LP is recorded in both the right and left channels

Hi, I’m new to Audacity.
Hope you can help with a problem I have when I dubb my LPs through Audacity.

Right now there is only input from the left channel from the LPs (only the left channel from the LP is recorded, but in both the right and left channels in Audacity). What is the cause of this and how can I fix the problem so I can record both right and left channel?

When my turntable is connected to my amplifier there are right and left channels.

Both Audacity and Windows have to be configured for stereo - [u]How do I recrod in stereo?[/u]

And, I hope you’re not connected to the microphone-input on a laptop… It’s “wrong” and it’s usually mono. :wink:

Thank you very much for your answers and help. It was the setup of Windows (7) that needed to be changed.
