Solo a track then turn selected ones on again with one button??

Okay,

So, I’m doing some multi tracking and slight mixing in audacity. Sometimes, I want to isolate just one track to listen real quick. There is a “solo” button which mutes all the other tracks, but then, in order to bring the rest of the tracks I want back in, I have to bring ALL of tracks back in and go through and mute the ones I don’t want again (most of the time I have some other tracks in the session that are muted constantly -backup takes, click track, etc.) -I’m wondering: Is there a way, with the click of one button, to select just a few tracks that go muted when I solo the track I want, and then just bring back in those 3 or 4 tracks rather than just ALL the other tracks “on” or ALL the other tracks “off”?? See what I’m sayin?? You can do it in most other audio programs… Is there a plug-in perhaps?

Thanks,

-T

To bring all of the tracks back in, just “un-solo” the soloed track.
Note that there are two “modes” for sol button behaviour. You may find the “multi-track” mode easier: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tracks_behaviors_preferences.html
