Snippets of sound while recording

Hi,

I am using Audacity 2.0.5

I am attempting to record audio to my PC through my churches’ PA system.

The recording is successful, but I am hearing weird ‘snippets’ of sound while it is being recorded.

I am monitoring the recording using hardware pass through, as i am using line in to record, and line out to route to headphones. However every ten seconds or so I get a half second of the sound that has just been recorded from audacity. I can ignore it if I have to, but id much rather not have to hear it.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going wrong?

There is an Audacity bug that does this if you both Append Record and enable Transport > Overdub.

Let us know if that answers it, if not please state exactly what version of Windows.

Thanks for the reply.

It is probably the bug, as that is exactally what I am doing. Appending recordings with overdub enabled.
I don’t need overdub tho, so it should be good if I turn that off.
