Simultaneous recording on 2 tracks with 2 mics

How do I record simultaneously on 2 tracks, using a different mic on each track? I can’t see how to set a track specific microphone. Thanks.

Audacity 2.3.3
Windows 10 pro
Using 2 usb microphones.

Audacity can’t currently record from two USB mics at the same time.

With conventional mics (non-USB) connected via a 2 channel audio interface, you can record as a stereo track, and then split the stereo track into 2 mono tracks.

Plug one USB microphone into computer 1 and the other into computer 2. When you roll both for record, make one loud noise that both microphones can hear as a sync point for matching up later.

You may run into speed accuracy issues with home computers, but you can usually take care of that with Effect > Change Speed. Pick one track as the master and match the other. Once you do that the first time, the correction value or percent should stay the same no matter how long you talk.

I don’t know any way to make your recording on one computer and still end up with two separate voice tracks for individual corrections and filtering.

This will get your show off the ground while you’re figuring out how to do it all on one computer.
