I’ve started my first project in 3.7.0. It’s almost unusable because when checking through the file, each tap of ‘space’ to initiate quick play at the selected point can take up to 30 seconds to take effect.
It’s something to do with my Steinberg UR22 USB audio interface. If I change the playback device in Audacity’s drop-down ‘Audio Setup’ to the headphones connected to my monitor (the headphone jack on my PC is broken), there is zero delay and I can zip about the file quick-playing where I choose with instantaneous playback.
I’m not an Audacity whizz, but have used it quite a lot in past incarnations for digitising LPs and tapes, making CDs with CD-Text, audio books, minor editing and noise reduction, and have never before had it being so laggy. I have used this audio interface previously with Audacity.
What can I do to enable me to use Audacity with this audio interface now?
