I have followed the instructions as far as the screen where the recording menu bar should give me :USB Audio Controller or USB Audio Codec.
Neither are present. I have tried downloading the latest verison but there has been no change, I am using Windows 7.
If you are not already doing so, follow along with Recording with USB turntables or USB cassette decks - Audacity Manual.
If you connected the USB device after launching Audacity, Audacity won’t be able to see the device of its own accord. Either restart Audacity, or look in the Transport Menu top of Audacity and click on “Rescan Audio Devices”.
If that does not help, please tell us what device this is with make and model number. Note that changing the USB cable and making sure it is tight both ends often helps solve issues.
