Separate Vinyl Help

Hi All,

A real beginner here! Ive successfully recorded from 25 7inch vinyl, but I uesd the pause button in between the tracks while recording them, so when l successfully burn them on a cd l was well chuffed, untill l put the cd on in the car! The sound is great, but l can’t skip to a certain track as its all one long track, all 25 single records.
Any help for a total beginner please, how do l record each record track separately, and then burn the whole lot (20-25 records ) together on a cd please.
thank you for any info for a total beginner!
Thank You
Cookie Boy

Please see this tutorial in the Audacity Manual: Splitting a recording into separate tracks - Audacity Manual

It’s part of this set of tutorials: Tutorial - Copying tapes, LPs or MiniDiscs to CD - Audacity Manual

It also depends on your CD burning software…

If you are happy with the gaps between songs and the way it sounds when played-through, you can use a Cue Sheet to place the track markers. This also works if you have a continuous live recording or when the songs are cross-faded.

You can also use a cue sheet with separate tracks.

I usually start with a known-good cue sheet and edit it (with Windows Notepad)…

I’m not sure if all CD burning applications support cue sheets. I use ImgBurn.

Hi Peter,
Many thanks for the reply, Ive tried and been on this most of the day, but lm still not understanding.
I treid with just 3 records today and still coming out as one long track, also regards Metadata Editor, l write down the artist name for track 1 but want do l do for all other tracks, as l’ve pressed ever button on there and can’t seem to get to write down track 2,3,4,5 etc
many thanks
Andy

If you can’t make Export multiple work - then just select each song in tirn using click&drag, then use Export Selection
