Hi
I am working on a windows pc with an interface: Scarlett 18i8 from Focusrite.
The voice actor is in another room. He hears his own voice through the interface (not via Audacity).
How can I send him an audio signal from Audacity, such as a music track or a click track?
Thanks for your help,
greetings,
Carolien
Play the track through “the interface”.
See this part of the manual: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_multi_track_overdubs.html
Hi,
Thanks for your reply!
Maybe I was not clear, sorry about that.
But I think the answer is not in the article you mentioned.
I try to have the music on the singers headphones, who is in another room. But for me, I don’t want to hear the music on my speakers in the control room. I just want to hear the singer. Or in another case, the voice actor needs to hear the audio prompt (which he has to say with his voice) but for me, I just want to hear the voice actor and not the audio prompt. Is it possible to send a signal to the headphones of the singer/voice actor, and at the same time not send that signal to my headphones or my speakers? But both the singer/voice actor and I want to hear his live voice.
Thanks again for helping me!
Kind regards,
Carolien
Audacity can only play to one audio device at a time. You would need to use a mixing desk that is capable of routing different mixes to two separate outputs, so that you can monitor one output and the singer can monitor the other.
An alternative approach: Some DAWs can do this if you have two ASIO audio devices connected to the computer.
