selection

hello

is there a short cut to des-activate a selection , or just click on the screen
how to play from a selection to the end of the score

thanks for your answear .

Please do not forget to tell us your version of Audacity and OS X. See the pink panel at the top of the page.

Using the current Audacity 2.1.1, SHIFT + F8 plays a piece of audio starting from the end of the selection. Or SHIFT + F6 plays a piece of audio starting from the start of the selection. The length of the piece to be played is the length of “Preview after cut region” in Playback Preferences.

Look at Keyboard Shortcut Reference to see all the shortcuts.

Otherwise, click in the Timeline above the blue waves to use Timeline Quick-Play. If the mouse pointer shows a “hand”, clicking there will play from the click point to the end of the project. If the mouse pointer shows “double arrows”, only the selection will play when you click above the Timeline.

There is not an easy way I can think of to click and play exactly from the start or end of the selection to the end of the project without removing the selection. If that is what you want, try using COMMAND + B to label the selection. Click outside the selection then above the left or right edge of the label to snap the cursor to the left or right edge of the label. Then SPACE to play from there. Click in the label to put the selection back in the track.

If you were asking about deselecting a track so that the selection in that track is not acted upon, see
See How do I extend or move the selected region into other tracks?.
