I’m using Audacity for the first time and trying to record from an ezcap USB cassette capture device but I can’t get Audacity to recognise the input device to record. So after clicking Edit and then selecting Preferences I’m getting only Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input or Microphone Array (USBPnP Audio as options …no USB Audio Device as expected from the instructions. Help!!!
Try USB PnP. I assume the ezcap is your only USB audio device?
Also note that Audacity won’t see a USB device that you connected after launching Audacity. Restart Audacity in that case.
Also read this in the Manual: Recording with USB turntables or USB cassette decks . Be sure to follow the section “Ensure the Audacity software is up to date” on that page.
