Hi,
I’m using Audacity 2.0.5 on Ubuntu 14.04 Gnome. I’m afraid I really can’t figure out how to even describe this properly, so I’ve attached a screenshot:
I’ve been using Audacity for a long time but just last week, in the middle of editing a file, I must have somehow changed a setting, and now selected sections of a track no longer show highlighting in the middle, only on the top and bottom. This makes precise selection very difficult.
When I grab one of the white handles and pull up, the middle area where selected space doesn’t show up gets even larger, and if I pull the handles down, the visual representation of the audio is compressed and eventually disappears.
I tried purging Audacity from my system (apt-get purge) and reinstalling, but the problem persists unchanged. I’ve also tried creating new files with no improvment.
Any ideas?
Thanks
You’ve selected the multi-tool.
Instead, choose the selection tool from the tools toolbar.
