says 'stopped' on bottom and not importing files

Hi-

My 2.2 version did this so I downloaded 2.3 and it still won’t let me import any files. It says ‘stopped’ in the lower left corner.

How can I fix?

so I downloaded 2.3

Please use full version number in future, or we don’t know if you are using 2.3.0, 2.3.1, 2.3.2 or 2.3.3 (and there are differences).

That’s normal when Audacity isn’t doing anything.

it still won’t let me import any files.

How are you doing that, and exactly what happens?
