Reuest for Recording Help

HI Guys,

I am new for this forum

and not able to find the request section so please help

I have one request, is it possible to add some setting to remove or reject certain frequencies, I saw such a kind of facility available in Jetaudio record section you can reject certain frequency I want this for to bypass Hissing sound on line so no need to remove it separately this may be done by noise reduction by it is too complicated to do that process and find the frequencies regularly

Thanks in advance

Please fill in the information from the pink panel at the top of the page.

Hiss should be removed from the equipment you are recording with in preference to removing it using digital processing.

What exactly are you trying to record? If it is songs online you may not be recording the correct way. See Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Windows.

If you are (deliberately) recording from an internal or external mic then on Windows Vista and later you may find settings in Windows Sound to filter some noise out. Right-click over the speaker icon in the System Tray > Recording Devices. Right-click over over the device you are recording with, choose “Properties” then look in the “Enhancements” tab.

Audacity does not alter the signal while recording. If you still need to remove hiss and you are sure the hiss is really only a small range of frequencies you can try Plot Spectrum then Notch Filter.

If you are still not sure, please post a sample WAV file of the “hiss”. See How to post an audio sample.
