Removing a Chain - MP3 Conversion

Hey folks. Trying to simplify operation. I’d like to delete the default chain “MP3 Conversion”. It appears I can’t remove it in the ‘Edit Chains’ dialog.
I’ve tried deleting it from the folder under ‘Users - App Data - Roaming - Audacity - Chains’
It just re-appears when I re-launch audacity.
‘Edius Prep’ is the single available (custom) chain I’d like to have in the chain selection dialog. It’s a custom chain with some leveling and compression.
I’ve modified the Audacity.cfg file to make the Active chain “Edius Prep”. Same situation. the Mp3 conversion just keeps on popping up in the window.
Edius Prep is the single available chain I’d like to have in the chain selection dialog. Nothing else.
Is this even possible?
TIA -
Kelly

I don’t think that you can. As far as I’m aware it is a “default” chain that is supposed to be there.

The most you can do is change the parameters of “MP3 Conversion” to those of the effect you want and accept it won’t be called what you want.
