Hi!
So I like making mashups by taking the instrumental from one song, the vocals from another, and putting them together. This process usually involves changing both the key and tempo of the instrumental, but often results in quite a tinny sound with a fair amount of artifacts.
For example, let’s say I have an instrumental in the key of A major and with a tempo of 110bpm, and I need it to be in D major and with a tempo of 115bpm. First I’ll click on Change Pitch and do it with high-quality stretching, and then I’ll click on Change Tempo and also do it with high-quality stretching.
What I was wondering is this - does it matter in what order I make these changes? I can never remember which order I’ve done it and I want to make sure I get the best-sounding results every time.
Additionally, if anyone has tips for reducing the tinny-ness of a track, I’d like to hear them. If there’s a better way overall of changing pitch and tempo in audacity, I’d love to know that as well.
Thanks!
