is there any way I can reduce the intensity of this animal eating sound effect to make it sound less intense, more normal eating, less gorey sounding, like gate the intensity of it or something in Audacity???
How about making it a lot less loud?
Amplify by -24 dB (minus 24)
Steve’s Limiter can selectively attenuate the louder peaks, (a form of dynamic range compression) …
*****!!! IN FACT THE LIMITER MAKES IT LOUDER AND MORE INTENSE!!! THANKS FOR SHOWING ME A PLUG IN THAT DOES THE EXACT OPPOSITE JERKS!!!

I have removed your offensive language. The folk who work on here and on the Audacity software are all volunteers, mostly with full-time jobs, who give of their spare time freely to help folk - they deserve good manners in return and they certainly don’t deserve rudeness!
Youv’e been on this forum since April 2011 so you should have figured out the modus operandi by now. I do note on reviewing your postings that you have a habit of SHOUTING with the use of capitals and an over-use of exclamation marks; please cease and desist from this - you have been warned …
In addition to forgetting your manners you probably forgot to put the “Make-up Gain” to zero …
