Recovering data files

Hi, I created a project in audacity and after I was finished I accidentally changed the name of the data file folder. Now when I open the project there is no data. However, I still have the folder under a different name, is there a way I can recover the project?

If you know what the original name was, then change it back.

If you have not changed the name of the Audacity Project file (the .AUP file with the Audacity icon) then the name of the data folder will be the same as that but with “_data” at the end. For example, if you saved the project as “my-project” then the .AUP file will be “my-project.aup” and the data folder will be “my-project_data”.

(Note that Windows may hide the “.aup” from the name of the project file).

If you have also changed the name of the project file and you don’t remember exactly what the original name was, please attach the project file to your reply. (See here for how to attach files to your post: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/how-to-attach-files-to-forum-posts/24026/1)
