Just downloaded 3.3.3 and tried to record a song directly through the Win 11 laptop mics. Got no sound other than my voice cussing it out while it was recording but not registering anything! I recorded a commercial from TV and the vocals came through but the background music did not. So strange.
Has Audacity been forced to cease and desist musical recording because the record labels are losing too much money?
Noise-reduction “audio enhancements” can do that …
They are being applied before the sound reaches Audacity.
Thanks for your reply!
I think Windows 11 doesn’t have an option to turn it off and on. At least I can’t find it. I’m stumped.
Found it, but it didn’t help
There can be two layers of “audio enhancements”,
e.g. RealTek & MaxxAudio.
[ Also things like Skype & Zoom can be responsible ]
