Searched and searched but couldn’t find an answer. I am using 1.3.2 beta on a mac G4 OS X. The levels are constantly peaking/distorting and I have not been able to find where I can adjust the incoming/recording volume. I turned the input and output volumes down to .05- no change in the recorded level, though I can make the window smaller (big deal). I moved the slider on ‘‘Audio Trac’’ to the negative. Nothing.
I am recording at 48000 project rate. Perhaps there is a level adjustment in itunes that needs to be selected…? I am converting LPs via Audacity and then moving them into itunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can’t answer mac-specific questions, but could it be that you’re plugged into the Mic In and not the Line In? The Mic In expects a very small signal compared to what most equipment puts out.
Nope, that was one of the things I checked. Are you able to effect the levels when recording? My levels peak out no matter how low I set the volume- I seem to have no control over the level. I’'m really surprised no one else has posted this problem.
I have the same problem. it’s trial and error. the controls on the audacity program don’t seem to do anything. I did find out if I use the volume on the source it’s ok, but then again it’s trial and error. it frustrating.
