I have been transferring cassette to MP3, no problems once I worked out instructions
For no reason, no change in what I am doing, the recording is now from the laptop microphone, NOT the cassette?
Cannot find out why

You have to select the correct [u]Recording Device[/u]. How is it connected to the computer? (If it’s one of those cassette players with a USB connection plug-in the USB before starting Audacity.)
So along the the lines of what DVDdoug says, be sure to restart Audacity after plugging in your USB device. Or do Transport > Rescan Audio Devices.
