When I am recording (singing) the initial recording is strong then after half a second fades considerably almost like it is being clipped in some way. This phenomena has only just started and I have tried two separate mics to cure it. Is there somewhere that levels / times are set ?
Windows has a setting that automatically sets voice volume and sound processing for conferencing and communications. It hates music.

In case it’s not Windows playing up, it could be helpful to know which interface and mics you are using.
It sounds like phantom power could be dropping out. That gives the exact phenomenon you describe too.
