Recording via USB Audio Codec

I work on an iMac 21", Yosemite 10.10. When I make a recording on Audacity, I can see the recording but I can’t get an output? How do I do that? I have tried to use “Internal Speakers” and “USB Audio Codec” as output without result!

If you are trying to listen to the recording as you make it, try Transport > Software Playthrough or Transport > Hardware Playthrough in the Audacity menu bar (but the hardware playthrough is not likely to work on such a modern Mac). If that does not work, get LineIn from Rogue Amoeba.

If USB Audio CODEC is a USB turntable or cassette deck, you cannot send computer playback to it. Choose the built-in speakers for output.
