So basically what I would like to do with Audacity is do audio interviews over a VoIP. I need one track to record system audio, and one track to record from my mike. I can’t seem to figure out how to adjust track inputs. Any help would be appreciated. Windows 7, Audacity 2.05.
Audacity will record whatever audio is sent to it.
Unfortunately, the Windows sound system is not able to do what you are asking.
One option would be to use a mixing desk - plug in your microphone and a second computer to the mixing desk. Use the second computer for the VOIP call. Pan the sound from the second computer to one side and pan the microphone to the other side. Then record from the mixing desk using your first computer.
Alternatively you could look at using specialist VOIP recording software such as “Pamela”.
