Recording stuck at 0?

Heyo,

i just downloaded Audacity 2.1.2 for Windows 7 via a zip file. I don’t have stereo mix options on my laptop, so I set my audio host to Windows WASAPI and set my recording device to loopback. When I try to record, the little arrow pops up at the top of the track as usual but it’s red and it just sits at the beginning of the track without recording anything. Any advice?

Play the audio before starting to record.

Make sure Transport > Sound Activated Recording is off (no tick or checkmark).
