Recording stops immediately

Hi folks,
I have a weird problem with Audcity V 3.6.4 - 3.7.1 AppImage under Kubuntu Linux 24.04 .

I have several audio tracks in my project.
Now I add a mono track and want to record vocals to that new track (or just press Shift-R).
Audacity should now play the song from beginning and should record the mike to the new track.

And SOMETIMES it does as it should, but often pressing the record button starts a recording that stops immediately.
Sometimes I can start the recording with several double clicks to “record”.
I don’t see any reason for that behavior nor do I know how to provoke or prevent it.

I am using pipewire with pipewire-pulse on my system.

The log complains:
" Failed to load shared library 'libavformat.so.61' (error 0: Erfolg)"
The device log ends with:

Aufnahmegerät ausgewählt: 2 - Scarlett 2i2 USB: Audio (hw:1,0)
Wiedergabegerät ausgewählt: 7 - pulse
Unterstützte Abtastraten:
    48000
Portmixer kann nicht geöffnet werden

Any idea?

That is weird, isn’t it? I use Linux too but I haven’t seen that message. I think the shared library is part of ffmpeg but I couldn’t say for certain. Did the same setup work fine with older versions of Audacity? Have you tried using 3.7.3?
