I have recently installed Audacity 2.4.2 on a new PC and all recordings are too short. For example a radio program 55 minutes long results in a recording 49 minutes long. The resulting playback is too fast and rather patchy. I cannot see how to fix this, any ideas?
Version 2.4.2 is from about the stone age… the most recent version is 3.7.7 and can be downloaded from Audacity’s website.
Thanks for your comment. However I have also tried version 3.7.7 and that is doing the same. If anything it is even worse.
Just throwing this suggestion out there, it may not be the case. Check to see if Sound Activated Recording is enabled.
Yes, sound activated recording is activated. Could that be pausing recording during short breaks?
Switching sound activation off did the trick. Thank you very much!
