Recording silence below specific threshold [SOLVED]

I want to record with voice activation, but continuously, so when I’m not speaking and volume drops below specific threshold (for example when there’s only background noise) Audacity would record silence. Is it possible?

Just do a normal recording (without using voice activation), then when you have finished recording, use a “Noise Gate” to silence the parts that are below a certain threshold.
There is a Noise Gate plugin here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Noise_Gate
Installation instructions: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plugins#install

Thank you very much, it works wonderful
