HI! I don’t know if I should post here, but if not, my apologies.
Listen, I have audicity 1.3.9 beta (to check if i like it or not).
I want to hear myself while recording and I’m not using the own laptop’s mic.
The problem is that when I switch on my mic and start recording after 2/3 seconds it starts making very loud noises (audicity, not the mic)! It sounds like a horn or a siren! The same doesn’t happen when I use the computer’s mic… However, I need to hear myself properly, so I can’t really use it…
There is another problem: when I’m recording (using headphones of course) I hear myself late, and that can’t happen.
I don’t know if this is the right place, but is there any way to record while listening myself using my laptop’s own recorder? I have one and it works just fine, but I don’t know how to hear myself while recording in there either.

That does happen. That’s computer delay and that’s the one delay that can’t be easily changed. That’s why the three hardware devices we tested all have the headphones connected to the device and not the computer.
The three devices deliver what I called “Perfect Overdubbing.” You hear a perfect, correct theatrical mix in your headphones in addition to producing a perfect correct recorded track. Without that, the chances of hearing your real-time mix are very slim.
As far as your other problem, you are probably trying to do overdubbing with the system recording Stereo-Mix instead of your microphone. The wiki article addresses that.
