I am using an Audient EV04 interface to record in Audacity. When I set the mic and playback I select the EV04 as the instructions require. I get no sound bar and no sound on the recording wave. Its like the software is not hearing any Mic?

Do you have OS permissions to use the microphone? Turn on app permissions for your microphone in Windows 10 - Microsoft Support
If you hare having difficulties. See if playback without recording works. Generate a tone. Then play it.
Then see if recording without playback works. Set your playback device to your PC’s speakers. Can you record now ?
