I have been using the old version of audacity for a long time. I tried the new version of audacity (2.4.2) on different computers, and every time I have the same problem: I record a part on one track, and it sounds perfectly fine. But when I go to record another part on another (2nd) track, the 2nd track sounds garbled and wonky. I am using headphones when I record the 2nd track. I never had this problem with the older version of audacity, and I don’t know why it isn’t working with the new version of audacity. Any insights would be GREATLY appreciated!
Edit > Preferences > Recording.
[X] Overdub
[_] Playthrough.
Make sure Audacity is trying to record from your microphone and not a software device or process. What does the little window next to the microphone symbol say?
Koz
Play other tracks while recording (overdub) - is checked
Software playthrough of input - is NOT checked
Is that correct? I am still getting the problem with those settings.
By the way, thank you so much for trying to help me out!!
