I am recording with WASAPI: Recording Device Speakers/ Realtek USB 2.0 Audio (loopback). The Playback device is the same. Initially the Recording Level was too high (ie gauge in the red). The recording level slider does not work in this mode, so I reduced the source level to 80% in the player app, which fixed that problem. However, now, when I record again, with the player app on max volume, the recording level meter max out at around -12dB. So it seems something has adjusted or reset. I don;t seem to have a control that will increase the recording sound level. When I play the recording the replay sound level between the initial recording and the later recodings are very different.
I did try to attach screen shots of the initial high recording and subsequent low, but only 1 attachment is allowed, so I made a pdf with both, but that is not allowed. Sorry.
I did try to use Realtek Audio Console as that might help, but I get the error “Can not connect to RPC service”. So I’ve not managed to get that going.
I am using Windows 11.
I have tried to search for a solution, but without success.
Apart from the volume issue, everything is working well.
I should be very grateful for any advice on how to fix this issue
I think I’ve solved this issue; it seems the player app adjusts the volume .
