i’ve tried everything… but the only way I can get the recording level up is to turn my mixer up almost all the way… I’m using an Alesis multimix8 usb fx mixer… It is showing a good level of output on the indicator lights…
I then have to turn audacity play volume of the backing tracks down greatly so that it won’t over power the vocals and also magnify the wavelength… just so I can see it… Then in playback of the recorded mix… I need to boost the vocal track by about 15 db… That’s a lot of steps to have to go through… I just replaced my old mixing board with a brand new exact model… However it appears to be working perfectly… I have tested the program with a usb mic plugged in directly to the computer… and I have the same exact problem with audacity and the recording levels…
It seems to be a problem with configuration or maybe a setting I’ve overlooked… However I’ve bee using audacity for 8 years with no problem…
