Recording from Pioneer DJM600 mixer into Audacity through HP

Hi Audacity peeps!

I am really struggling of late to record into Audacity from my mixer into my HP laptop.

It keeps picking up the internal mic and therefore when I record it picks up all outside sound and not what is coming out through my mixer. I use RCA to 3.5mm jack from my REC output on mixer into my headphone input on my HP laptop. I dont know why this is happening and I cannot record properly.

Any ideas would be appreciated?

Set the recording input to the “line input” using the device toolbar.
