Recording from multi-channel interface issues

Hi All

I’m trying to record my drums through a Tascam US-16x08 USB interface. I get the associated mixer software on my PC and each channel shows an input so therefore the interface is talking to my laptop properly through the USB connection. Audacity is finding the interface as it is shown in the microphone drop-down box so therefore Audacity is talking to the interface. Initially I just used a mic through input number 1 of the interface and all was well, however having just connected all mics it’s become apparent that only the first two inputs from the interface are being recorded. I’ve tested all mics and leads independently.

I’m running Audacity version 2.1.0 over the latest Windows 10 Home.

Any ideas…?

[u]Multi-channel recording with Aucacity[/u]. …Very few people are doing it. (I’ve never tried.)

I’d recommend getting a [u]DAW application[/u] specifically designed for multi-track recording & mixing. [u]Cakewalk[/u] (formerly Cakewalk SONAR) is now free!

Thanks, I was then reading around the different DAWs.

I’ve used Audacity for years to record basic stuff, mess around with editing, etc but this is the first time I’ve tried recording from multiple mics. I’ll give Cakewalk a go - ta
