Recording flash cards, trimming end of audio file possible?

Hello!

I click on play with my recorded flash cards, and then let Audacity record all the 100+ cards into one large mp3 file. But is there a way of either getting it to stop recording when the sounds have ended, or trim the silence at the end?

If I leave the PC while it records, there will inevitably be a very long silence at the end …

Was this about using Audacity for an educational purpose? Assuming not, it is best to post in the Forum board for your operating system, so I moved the topic for you.

Try Transport > Sound Activated Recording (on/off).

If you need more help, please tell us your version of Audacity (see the pink panel at the top of the page).

Depends on how one would define educational purposes. I will record the names of all capitals and countries with associations, and then listen to them to learn it one and for all.

I guess the question is mostly support related. I will try Transport. I am using Audacity 2.1.1
