Recording direct off web pages like YouTube

Hi Everyone

I’m New to this forum and a beginner as far as sound recording is concerned.

I have latest update Audacity on my PC (I think) as I installed it only on 24/03/19. Unfortunately I don’t know where to look for version number. Have looked under Properties but no luck.

I simply wish to know if I can record direct from websites like YouTube unto my PC using Audacity. If so, can you point me to the relevant Help section that explains how I can do this.

The Audacity version number can be found in “Help menu > About Audacity”.

To record sounds that are playing on your computer, it’s usually best to use the “WASAPI loopback” option as described here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html#Windows_WASAPI_loopback_recording
