Recorded audio in real local time?

Does Audacity have the ability to record audio in real local time?

For example: At 12:30 on a sunday I record audio using my microphone for 1 hour. Can I switch the x-axis so that the recording has each hour, minute, and second on file from 12:30 to 13:30? Is this possible?

Can be in any format but the exact time I start and finish is what is most important.

The Timeline cannot show time of day but assuming that is what you mean, I’ll make a note of your suggestion.
