Record on-line radio

I have a Dell with Windows 7. I used to have Audacity on a previous Dell with XP and it worked great.

Now I have been trying to download Audacity on my Dell windows 7 and can’t get it to record on line radio properly. It records at a very low range barely audible. I have also tried to download earlier versions, same problem.

If anyone can provide proper and complete instructions I would very much appreciate it.

I am a very precise person, a former flight instructor and understand the proper way to write instructions. Sadly that concept of precision is lost on most tech people and their instruction seldom match what actually appears on screen, not to mention that they often skip steps they assume are known by us.

This has been a batlte I’ve had to fight for years without success at getting through to tech people.

Anyone that can help I would be very grateful too.

  1. Choose the Windows WASAPI Audio Host
  2. Select the (loopback) input in the Recording Device box. Choose the loopback input for the computer playback device you will be listening to (for example, “Speakers (loopback)” ).
  3. Ensure that the “recording channels” is set to “2 (Stereo)”

  1. Start playback of the thing that you want to record and turn the volume up.
  2. Press the Audacity Record button.
