Windows 10 Pro
Although this thread is similar to one previously posted, I’m posting it because it is unique and not solved in the way the previous poster thought he was able to solve his problem.
Audacity is my go-to program for anything involving sound.
Unfortunately, when I bring it up I’m unable to start using the program because:
- Record Button is not working. Without this button it is impossible to create a new track.
- The Audio Setup button is frozen. Depressing this button doesn’t present either the Recording Device button or Playback Device button.
- I am able to provide Audacity with a track by dragging an existing .mp3 file over Audacity. With this track in place I can use the Play button (and presumably other relevant tools and filters). However the Record button is still inactive and non-functional and I cannot generate, or record, a new track.
This applies to V 3.0.2, V 3.7.3; 32-bit and 24-bit installs.
