works fine but tried to record something from a cassette and ran into trouble.samsung laptop has 1 headphone/microphone jack.I read somewhere to split it using a combo jack.bought that but no sound comes through to the recording.sorry I couldn’t find this in prev forums.thanks for any ideas

As a general rule, entertainment/stereo recording needs to be done outside the computer. I use a Behringer UCA202 with a Windows PC…

It also works on Mac and Linux. If you need to direct-connect a conventional turntable, Behringer also makes the UFO202 with a built-in phono preamplifier and ground connection.

Other people make devices like this.

Be careful about devices like the Startech ICUSBAUDIO which will not accept a stereo connection any more than your PC does.

Scroll down to USB Devices.
