Hello out there, I’m using Audacity’s latest version and started to play around with realtime effects. However, when exporting to MP3 they seem to be missing altogether in the exported file. Are there any prerequisites to include realtime effects in the export? Or maybe this is only possible with uncompressed formats (WAV, FLAC)?
Thanks a lot for any ideas, Marc
In Audacity some VST plugins apply the default settings when you mix&render or export.
In some of those cases the default setting is null: no effect on the mixed/exported track.
The format you export to would not prevent an effect from being applied.
Hi Trebor, thanks a lot for your reply.
Makes me doubt the usefulness of real-time effects altogether. One can never be sure that one’s adjustments and settings will be contained in the export? Seems a bit pointless…
Big thanks to you though, at least I now understand what happened!
What effects have you been using? can you send a screenshot of your effects sidebar?
An alternative to that plugin is the free version of TDR Nova, which works in Audacity 3.
Thanks Trebor I will try with that one.
