Hi folks,

I’m a total beginner and have a question. I’m using Windows 7 ( I know ) and Audacity 2.3.2. I’m doing a voice over and am trying to narrate over music. I imported the music that I want ( it sounds great ), but it’s too loud, and I can’t seem to adjust it. Do I have to wait until I have the final narrative copy that I want, and adjust the music volume when I mix it down, or is there a way to adjust it now?

Import your music (from an audio file) into one track, and record your voice on a new track (“Shift + Record” or “Shift + R”). You can then make changes to one track without affecting the other.
