re: another copy running

Pls help if you can. Regarding help for “another copy of audacity is already running.” If I click finder, there is no option for “Go> go to folder…” or any of that info that appears in the how to fix “another copy running” thread. There is no “~Library/support,” no “path” to paste. There is only , a list of recents, a list of applications and a list of documents etc.

Under “locations” audacity appears and if I click it, its the installer.

What am I missing here???
Thanx!

Mojave 10.14.6 and audacity 2.3.3

This is a known Audacity bug

A lock file is wrongly left behind in

~/Library/Application Support/audacity/SessionData

Clear that folder and then start Audacity.

This bug is fixed for the soon to be upcoming 2.4.0 early next month

Thanx, but I have no idea how to find /access “~/Library/ Application …” etc
e.g. where the heck do I look for that folder?
thanx

Open a Finder window, then use “Go” (from the Mac menu bar) and copy / paste

~/Library/Application Support/audacity/SessionData

I can find the folder for applications support but Audacity isn’t listed.
After recording for 35 minutes I found the file corrupted. The blame? Same as others above, only after deleting and reinstalling audacity (mojave and AUD 2.3.3) I searched this ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/SessionData and got nothing. I went further and under the applications support, Audacity is not listed. There is no duplicate install of audacity, and all .aup files are gone. How can I find the lock file and delete it? Yes I re-started after the install.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

It looks like Audacity is not actually installed.

How did you do that?
