Windows 10
Audacity 2.3.1
I’ve just spent 30+ minutes going through some vinyls. All of a sudden i start to get random clicks almost every 2. second. There are no clicks on the direct vinyl audio, so i’m a bit confused at this point?

That can happen if the computer is busy doing other things. The Windows Task Manager can show you what is running, and give some idea of the amount of computer resources are in use.
If you are using the current version (2.3.1) it can detect dropouts.
Also see How can I record without small skips (dropouts) or duplications?.
If that doesn’t help there is a free online book about optimizing your computer for audio called Glitch Free.

Records with no “snap”, “crackle”, and “pop” are rare.
But if the defects are on the record, of course they will occur at the same place every time the record is played (or recorded) so if they are truly random that’s a computer/recording problem.
