Radio Effect

I was going to ask folks here how to achieve an effect as tho someone was talking on the radio. I’ve heard this done a few times w/ various songs. However, I found a tut on Youtube so I thot I’d share it. http://youtu.be/zV9KyoV8h20. Enjoy.

Very good. I wonder what she used for the capture.

Got me on what was used. By the by, those instructions are for older versions of Audacity. For 2.0 it’s even easier.

  1. Highlight the track you want to adjust.
  2. In Effect, select Equalization and be sure it is set on Draw Curves. (Click the Flatten button if you don’t have a flat line at 0dB.)
  3. Click the bluish line a 20 Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz, 8000Hz and 10000Hz and right end scale to form edit points.
  4. Bottom out all the edit points except the 2000Hz and 8000Hz.
  5. Drag the 2000Hz and 8000Hz points up to 12dB.

You can play with the envelope a bit to adjust to taste.

Koz,

You could try Wink or CamStudio for screen capture.
