quick Instructions manual

Hello, can I use 64 bit, Windows 8.1 to record saving into a file on computer cassettes, then change them over to cd later date as this does not have cd burner.

also does Audacity instll cd need to be hooked up same time as I am recording or anytime after installation?

Audacity doesn’t burn anything, so you would be using Audacity to capture the sound from your cassettes and exporting the sound as WAV (Microsoft) sound files (not MP3).

Dump the WAV files into Windows Media and use that to burn the CDs.

Does your computer have a regular soundcard with line-in? or, do you have a cassette player with a USB connection? (The microphone input on a laptop or tablet is not ideal for a line-level or headphone-level signal, and it’s usually mono.)

No. And if you have Audacity on a CD, it may be outdated. The current version of Audacity is 2.1.2, and you can download it here.
