Punch-In Repair 3.3.3 doesn't stop recording at end of selection

Audacity 3.3.3 When I follow instructions for Punch In Repair Tutorial - Punch-in repair of recordings - Audacity Manual
and hit Shift/R, Recording takes place within the selected “lead in/lead out” selected area, but the recording is not limited to the “Silenced Area”. It will continue to record before and after the Silenced area, overlapping with the original track (stem). Maybe the Punch In Repair feature is supposed to work like this, but having to make sure I stop playing my instrument outside of the Silenced area is a challenge. Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong?

I cannot reproduce this on W10 with 3.3.3 or the latest alpha test build I have for the upcoming 3.4.0

Peter.

Thanks for checking…I will keep investigating. This is Windows 11…(Version 3.3.3)…I don’t know if that is an effect, but everything else is working great. I love the new “Beats & Measures” feature for music production.

I can’t test on W11 till I get to Zurich in a couple of weeks time - my UK PC is only 5-6 years old, but is apparently already too old to support W11.
