In previous instances, I have been able to split my MP3s into 999 files (they are audio books, so I find that having this many tracks makes it easier to listen to it without losing my place so easily). But when I upgrade to 2.1, I am now getting an error telling me I am out of range. What gives?
Audacity “2.1” is not made by us. All our versions have three numbers. See the pink panel at the top of the page.
If you download 2.1.2 from us at http://audacityteam.org/download/windows and then tell us exactly what effect or method you are using to split the files, we may be able to help.
For example Analyze > Regular Interval Labels… has a maximum of 1000 labels. Currently we validate numerical limits set by plugin authors. If you disagreed with that value in that effect, you could open that effect’s file “equalabel.ny” in Notepad, and change the three instances of “1000” to a higher number.
If you are using some other Nyquist plugin, you could make a similar change.
